Collection: Neville Ware

Neville is the eldest of 2 sons and grew up in Christchurch. In 1970 he moved to Wellington and enjoyed a long career in logistics, training, contract development and administration.

Since retirement in 2001, he decided to embark on a totally new career - sculpting Oamaru stone. He was attracted to this stone due to its relatively forgiving nature during sculpting culminating in the finished three-dimensional images which vary depending upon the light source and viewing angle. His works cover a wide spectrum of shapes including symbolic representations of our wonderful countryside, geo-geometric shapes as well as purely functional pieces, and artist’s ‘whims’.
